HMS Murder is a TV Series constituting of eight episodes is currently filming in Malta. This production amounts to a whopping €2.3 million Malta spend.
The executive producer of HMS Murder, Sandra McIver said, “When one considers how small Malta is, we couldn’t believe we managed to stand in six different countries in this beautiful island.”
McIver concluded, “I want to thank all the Maltese crew which are the key stakeholders in this industry in Malta.”
Clapperboard Studios chose Malta as their home for a total of three productions in two years. Malta Film Commissioner, Johann Grech remarked how the plan is working. Grech added how this is a fact-checker which will lead us to attracting more productions to Malta and together build a sustainable film industry.
Grech concluded how this is a clear example of the good reputation we created. Through good connections and networking with foreign producers and film studios to professional crew on sets, Malta is the filmmakers destination.
Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo said “this production shows the versatility of our proposition in the world of film. Our strategy which is built on fiscal incentives that are the most desirable around Europe is leading us to the offering careers instead of one-off jobs. We will keep working on achieving our vision – that of creating a ‘world-class’ film industry in Malta”.
This production is filming in twenty different locations in Malta and is doubling up for six different countries. On the other hand, the countries standing in this series include: Spain, France, Morocco, Italy, Portugal and last but not least Malta itself. In this production, over 60 local crew worked for period of 7 weeks.
