Over 2,500 people apply to join Malta’s film industry
09 March 2023

During a Q&A session held with hundreds of aspiring film crew members who gathered to learn about the opportunities in Malta’s film industry, Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech, expressed
his satisfaction with the increasing number of people looking to pursue a career in the film industry.

As the film industry continues to experience daily growth, Grech highlighted the need for a robust training programme for locals to keep up with the increased demand in film and TV productions shooting in Malta. “We are attracting more productions to Malta and constantly training more locals to join us,” Grech stated.

Training sessions organised by the Malta Film Commission will commence this week, with over 2,500 locals attending workshops in various key roles such as carpenters, welders, sculptors, visuals artists, hair stylists & make-up artists, seamstresses, sound technicians, camera operators, accountants and script supervisors.
