Malta has been selected as the exclusive filming location for The Ascent, an American survival thriller feature film. With a budget exceeding €4 million, the production is making a substantial contribution to the local film industry.
Filming will take place over 23 days at key locations, including Malta Film Studios and Miġra l-Ferħa in Ħad-Dingli. This further solidifies Malta’s reputation as a premier destination for international film productions.
The film’s director, Adam Green, is working in Malta for the first time, alongside a talented cast, including Gregg Sulkin (The Six Triple Eight).
On Wednesday afternoon, Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech and Minister for Culture Owen Bonnici visited the set, observing the production process firsthand.
Beyond its impact on Malta’s global standing in the film industry, this film production is providing jobs to 90 local crew members.
