The Netflix production Enola Holmes 3 finished filming in Malta in July, following over a month of shooting across various iconic locations around the island.
The Minister for the Arts, National Heritage and Lands, together with Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech, visited the set in Mdina during the final days of filming.
Directed by Phil Barantini, the third instalment in the Enola Holmes franchise sees the return of Millie Bobby Brown Bongiovi in the title role. The film introduces a brand-new mystery, this time set in Malta during the rule of the British Empire.
Filming took place in multiple locations including Mellieħa, Valletta, Ħ’Attard and the Malta Film Studios. Among the cast in Malta was Helena Bonham Carter, the acclaimed actress known for her role in the Harry Potter film series.
The production benefited from the Malta Film Commission’s Cash Rebate programme and employed more than 360 Maltese and Gozitan crew members throughout the shoot.
Commenting on the production, Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech said:
“Productions like these are important not only for our economy and for the international image of our country, but also because they serve as key opportunities to continue the upskilling of our Maltese and Gozitan crews.”
