Held during last week of June, the third edition of Mediterrane Film Festival featured nearly 60 screenings across its programme, including films in competition, films with an environment-theme, productions filmed in Malta, and others. Thousands attended the screenings and participated during the festival, contributing to this year’s donation.
A major highlight of the festival was a fully sold-out special reading event at the historic Teatru Manoel, featuring renowned British author David Walliams.
The festival activities included a special visit to the Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre at Mater Dei Hospital, by Hollywood actor Josh Gad, best known for voicing Olaf in Disney’s Frozen. During this visit, Gad spent time with children, shared stories, engage in play and brought moment of joy to young patients and their families.
While the Malta Film Commission continues to invest in the growth of the industry, through both the upskilling of crew and the development of infrastructure, it remains equally committed to giving back to our community. Supporting organisations such as Puttinu Cares remains close to the to the Commission’s heart, as it recognises the vital work carried out in providing care and support to children and families facing serious illness.
